These days, it’s easier than ever to connect with loved ones far away, to document our lives 24/7, to share our day to day with the world. But we’ve lost things too. We won’t have love letters stored away in a box for our grandchildren to read one day, photos get buried within a 34k camera roll, and I’m sure I’m not alone in my perpetual failure to keep a diary.

This is why I feel so strongly about my heirloom commissions. I believe now more than ever, we are sentimental people, looking for things to hold onto, something tangible to tell our story, and pass down to the next generation after we are gone. So that’s what I aim to create with my heirloom paintings, honoring the small details that make your story yours.

The sky’s the limit with these pieces, but please reach out early, especially if you have a deadline like a milestone birthday or anniversary in mind. A few ideas include: your pet or first home, a family tree telling the story of your heritage, an iconography painting (THINK OF WHAT TO CALL THIS) mapping out the things that impacted your loved one’s life.
